If you have never participated in market research before, you may have questions about exactly how participating works. We've posted the questions we hear most often below, along with our answers. If you have a question our FAQ does not answer below, please email us.
Anyone over the age of 18 may create a profile if they live within one of the geographic regions our facilities cover. Please take a moment to ensure that you live within our selected zipcodes. At this time, Adler-Weiner does not do any online surveys, so in order to participate, you must be able to attend studies at one of our facilities.
Please fill out one of our online questionnaires to become a participant. We invite your friends and family members to join as well!
Yes! Anyone over the age of 18 may join. Children under the age of 18 may participate, but they will not have their own profile. Instead, they are sub-listed under the profile of a parent or guardian and may participate only with parent/guardian consent.
Absolutely! Our clients pay you an incentive for your time and opinions. Incentives can be received as cash, checks, gift cards, prepaid debit cards or even products. You will always be advised of the incentive type and amount before you commit to any project.
It will take only a few minutes to become a participant. You will be asked to provide some simple information that will help us match your profile to the numerous research projects we conduct. The more information you provide the better we can match you up with a project that fits you! When we find a project that matches your profile we will contact you either by email or phone to see if you qualify.
You may update your personal information by sending an email directly to our Chicago-area database manager or our Southern California database manager. You cannot make changes to your existing profile using our online form.
Please arrive on time with a positive attitude! Focus Groups are fun and we want you to enjoy your experience with us. Know that if you arrive late for your group, you may not be admitted into the study or be compensated. Our clients rely on the timeliness of our services in order to cover all of the information they need to. If you need to cancel for any reason, we ask that you contact either your recruiter directly, or the front desk of the facility you are scheduled to attend. We understand if circumstances may cause a change in plans, but if you let us know in advance, we appreciate the time to recruit another interested participant. And most importantly, be honest and truthful when answering questions about yourself and your experiences. There is no wrong answer!
We appreciate your participation and would like to have you continue, however, if you wish to have your name removed from our database you may do so at any time. Each email we send contains an unsubscribe option to discontinue receiving email from us. You may also email our database managers in Chicago or Southern California directly and ask them to remove you from our database.
If a certain project has specifications that match your profile, and the answers you provide during the telephone prescreening qualify you, then we invite you to join us for a focus group. However, because each client has a different type of business and diverse research needs, we must recruit individuals specific to their target audience. As much as we would like to invite everyone to join us every time, you may not be a match for a certain project. If you are not a match for this one, you will most likely be a match for a future project.
Additionally, we frequently have many more potential participants respond than are needed and we fill the groups quickly. We advise that you call us back or email a response as quickly as possible in order to allow for the greatest possibility of participation.
• You may have recently participated, which would preclude you from any immediate projects.
• Your information may not be up-to-date; if this is the case, please email your Chicago or Southern California area database manager to update your information.• Many email and Internet Service Providers have SPAM protection in place to ensure you receive information from only trusted contacts. If our emails are going into your SPAM folder, please add us to your list of trusted contacts.
If you are not already in our database and you have received an email from Adler-Weiner, your email address may have been provided to us by a client because you have chosen to "opt-in" to marketing or email campaigns provided by them. You may choose to opt-out of communication with us by replying “unsubscribe” to the email. However, you would need to contact the original provider directly in order to discontinue yourself from their lists and campaigns if you should choose to do so. Or you may participate in the focus group they have opted to include your name as a potential for!
